First-ever design intern on product infrastructure & design system team.
TikTok's Product Infrastructure team manages core user experiences that billions of people interact with every day, including feed, profile, social features, and account systems, etc.
TikTok's Design System team drives the overall visual direction of the platform. Changes to components, colors, or typography can have a profound impact across the entire app experience.
My responsibility
I'm thrilled to be part of both teams, helping redefine the visual direction and elevate microinteractions across the TikTok platform.
Design at scale. Established the baseline for design quality across all designers and elevated component visuals across scenarios to raise TikTok’s visual ceiling.
Adapted to TikTok’s design system within a short time frame, analyzed real usage scenarios, created components, and collaborated with multiple feature design teams.
Researched and explored emerging design trends to elevate the visual language and overall design style of the TikTok app, ensuring the experience stays current and forward-thinking.
Built high-fidelity prototypes in Origami to reduce communication gaps and ensure outcomes aligned with the intended design.
