My impact
Worked closely with 180+ QA testers and 100+ feature designers, maintaining fast feedback loops to ensure on-time and smooth launches.
Data & Conversion
Expected to increase CTR, with positive impact on actions such as purchase, social interaction, and following, etc.
Expected to have a positive impact on relationship building.
User experience & Perception
Enhances overall interface friendliness and sense of modernity.
Large corner radii better align with screen curvature and the natural rounded touch of users’ fingers.
System & Collaboration
Improves team design efficiency and provides support for new technologies.
Enhances cross-team consistency and correct usage of corner radius standards.
Why build it?
TikTok’s current corner radius feels overly sharp and lacks visual softness.
Current design
Most existing corner radii feel rigid and are not well aligned with hardware corner curvature.
Past experiment
Data indicates a positive impact on follows and relationship building.
Team needs
Product and design teams have a strong need for larger corner radii, and increasing the radius better supports their work.
Design trend
Despite a previous increase in corner radius, the current system no longer aligns with evolving design trends for softer and more rounded UI.
Outcome
Experiments, AB test & Rollout
Designed and explored four corner radius experiments, shipping in January 2026.
